OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to create more awareness for tuberculosis, and help kids that have TB get the emotional support and medical care they need to overcome this terrible disease. In kids 5 and under, tuberculosis is the leading cause of death in countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Dominic of Congo, Philippines and Nigeria. These countries along with some other select few, have such high mortality rates due to there not being enough awareness, poverty, and a lack of the right resources needed to treat the disease. Our goal is to change this by not only helping these kids get the treatment they deserve but also make sure we can brighten their lives during the lengthy process. Typically the recovery process can be very isolating, as most kids would have to be alone to avoid the passing of the disease to other people around them, and the treatment can last as long as up to 12 months. Unfortunately, some kids in other countries don’t even have the luxury of doing this themselves, as there aren’t enough resources or treatment to go around and as a result, tuberculosis has become one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the world. When I was younger, I used to have latent tuberculosis, and while it was not active, I still had to go through treatment to ensure that it didn’t become active. It took a good 6-12 months for me to complete the treatment, yet since it was latent, I didn’t need to isolate myself. However, I’m grateful that I had the ability to even undergo this treatment as many other kids don’t, and that’s something I hope to change through this nonprofit. We will continue to dedicate our lives to ensuring that the youth of the world are getting the treatment they need to overcome, and hopefully one day, eradicate this disease.
